Mark Bell  directs this wacky musical Fun at The Beach Romp-Bomp-A-Lomp!! that is written by Martin Landry with music and lyrics by Brandon Lambert.

I knew walking into the theatre that I was in for an entertaining 85 mins at Southwark Playhouse Borough. The staging is this cool 60’s beach scene that has a “Happy Days/ Grease” vibe to it. It is self-billed as a Grease meets Squid Game parody.

On a sunny hot day at the beach, a group of men and a group of women are gearing up for a competition that will apparently change their lives forever: the legendary Beach Romp-Bomp-a-Lomp!! The winner will become either King or Queen of the beach. What starts out as a happy ever after love story like Grease will descend into a crazy murderous killing spree with the cast singing parodies of iconic retro hits is a fun energetic way throughout.

This very entertaining absurd performance runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough in London from 24th May to 22nd of June.
