Georgie Rankom directs this musical that promises the kind of boy meets girl format of romcoms from the eighties and nineties but in a musical format.

Ami (Grace Mouat) meets Ben (Jacob Fowler) by a tree on a “beautiful hillside”. Recognising him instantly as the man she was in love with three years ago, when he was an artist working as a waiter on a night she gets stood up by a date. Ben, who now works in a call centre, has no memory that he was an artist and that they had been in a relationship due to his amnesia. Despite this they have an immediate connection.

The play flips back from past to present. In the past we see a relationship that starts of in the idealistic “falling in love” phase to when it deteriorates and they break up. In the present Ami hides the fact that they knew each other before, while she tries to encourage Ben with gifts of drawing materials so he can rediscover his artistic gift.

The future is a reset for Ami for what went so terribly wrong in the past, where this is a new experience in Ben’s eyes as he has no memory of their past relationship.

Will these two lovers have their happy ever after, after all? Well go see it and find out. Or go see it to hear the fantastic singing voices and performance of Grace Mouat and Jacob Fowler in this heart-warming tale.
