‘Save the World’ GT art car designed by D*Face unveiled at Bahrain GT Nations Cup race

Following on from the ‘Save the World’ campaign launched earlier this year, Cybersecurity giant, Kaspersky Lab has revealed its first race-ready GT art car design by British street artist D*Face for Team Italy.

Kaspersky Lab has teamed up with renowned British street artist D*Face to create the ‘Save the World’ Ferrari race car in the company’s ongoing commitment to both motorsport and the creative industries.

Their aim is to breathe new life into the high-end hot rod art car concept, by giving urban artist D*Face free rein to do he wants with it. The result is a bright, bold and colourful design that is highly distinctive and archetypal of D*Face’s broader work. This is the first race-ready art car of its kind.

The Ferrari 488 GT3 car, emblazoned with a striking design of the Italian flag – vigorously evocative of speed and pure dynamism – alongside D*Face’s ‘Save the World’ motif, acts as the medium of a powerful message: that art can empower people to make a change.

‘Save the World’ is intrinsically linked to Kaspersky Lab’s own mission: to save and protect the world from all sorts of cyberthreats in order to fight for a truly free and safe digital world.

The design will be seen on Team Italy’s AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 and will be raced by drivers Piergiuseppe Perazzini and Matteo Cressoni.

Speaking ahead of the race, London-born D*Face spoke of how excited he is to see his design on the race track.

“I am beyond excited for the GT Nations Cup and to see my design race around the Bahrain track,” said D*Face. “This is going to be special. I am a huge motorsport fan. Since creating the Formula E art car with Kaspersky Lab, I have been desperate to see our ‘Save the World’ design travel at breath-taking speed on the track and you can’t get better than a Ferrari. May the best-looking car win!”

“Throughout the ages, art has been used as a vehicle to demonstrate powerful messages through metaphors and symbolism and this car acts as a real message of hope” he continues. “Saving the world isn’t just the job of cybersecurity companies like Kaspersky Lab, this is, after all, our world and we need to look after it. We all need to act to make a real lasting, impactful change.”

Kaspersky Lab is presenting its second ‘Save the World’ art car designed by D*Face, following a Formula E car that was unveiled earlier this year.
