Produced by Living Record Productions, Skye Hallam Heads or tails is a light-hearted look at the afterlife. Hallam gives us a humorous and yet thought provoking performance in her debut one-woman show.

She plays Steph, a dead 25 year old woman who has been granted 40 minutes back on earth to let us know first of all that God is in fact a woman, who prefer’s the pronouns her and she.

She begins in an engaging matter of fact way to tell us about heaven and all the dead celebrities heroes – having tea with Alan Rickman. Then of her life when she was alive. We hear of her regrets, her fears, her anxieties as she reminisces on her life lost, the milestones she never reached like being a “yummy mummy”.

In a message to us, her undead audience, she tells us with a humorous frankness, what we should take less seriously about ourselves and the world like societal issues such as “cancel culture”, “Wacko Jacko”, “Trump”, etc.

In a gentle but persuasive manner she lets us know the things that should matter more like taking care of the planet or eating less meat.

Beautifully written and performed, this play is well worth a watch.

Brighton Fringe 2021 runs from 28 May – 27 June.
